Harvest is such a busy time and little things like a dip or bump in the track can lead to boxes of grapes falling, wasted work, hot tempers and unnecessary delays. After a wet Winter and Spring there were a few extra dips where puddles had formed. So we decided to smooth out the tracks around the vineyard before harvest and while we were at it we took out a few long-standing bumps as well. Thanks to Leroy for bring his “oldie but a
goodie” road grader for the job.
This is the time of year for us to prepare. Check the condition of equipment, clean it, repair it, replace it, organise. Harvest looks like being early March. If you are planning to make wine you might like to do the same. And if you haven’t ordered your grapes yet, do it soon.
