Collect Your Grapes direct from The Shiraz Republic

For those of you who have been following the season on here, you will be aware that picking is only weeks away. We are busy organising all the busyness, but we also have some news for anyone interested in collecting their grapes from our vineyard.

'Collection Day' - Collect Your Grapes from The Shiraz Republic on March 3rd

We're currently organising a collection day for customers picking up from the vineyard. We hereby invite you to visit the vineyard on Saturday the 3rd of March to collect your grapes and taste some of our wine. You would be welcome to bring a bottle/s of your own wine to share/swap/barter with us and fellow winemakers. We would love to have a taste of your previous vintages.

We expect that you will want to head on home to begin crushing your grapes, but you would be welcome to stay for a taste, tour and a nibble before loading up your grapes for the drive home.

By having a single day for collection, we remove some of the complications and frustration with having home delivery and pick-up on the same day, making everyones life that little bit easier.

If for any reason this date does not work for you, that's fine - just let us know, but we feel this would be a fun day of food and wine for Shiraz Republicans to collect their grapes and begin their wine making.

As for timing, all the grapes should be picked and ready for collection by 3pm, however if you require them any earlier in the day please contact us and we can give you a rough idea of when you're grapes will be ready. We will have some of our wine open for tasting and some finger food for you while wait for your car/truck/trailer to be loaded with quality Shiraz grapes.

For those of you getting your grapes delivered, we will not be able to deliver to you on this day. We apologise for any inconvenience.

People's Day at The Shiraz Republic

For those of you who have been following the season on here, you will be aware that picking is only weeks away. We are busy organising all the busyness, but we also have some news for anyone interested in picking their own grapes at our vineyard.

'People's Day' - Pick Your Own grapes on March 4th

We are going to have a 'People's Day' up at the Shiraz Republic for all our customers that are picking their own grapes. We hereby invite you and your pickers (family/friends) to the vineyard on Sunday the 4th of March to pick your grapes in the morning, store them in our insulated shed while enjoying a barbecue lunch with some wine tasting and then (responsibly) drive your grapes home in time for an afternoon crush. For those that have made wine before, we invite you to bring a bottle/s to share/swap/barter with fellow winemakers.

We feel that this should be a fun day for everyone, but it will also remove all the complication and frustration of having deliveries and customer picking on the same day, because we can give you all our full attention. We are expecting our grapes to be perfect for picking over this weekend and we should have plenty of people around to help you with picking, storing and loading. Bring your family and friends to make picking faster and to share in the fun of the People's Day.

If for any reason this date does not work for you, that's fine - just let us know, but we feel this would be a fun day of food and wine for Shiraz Republicans to join in a communal pick (before a pic(k)nic) with other home wine makers.

We suggest that picking starts at around 8am, to be finished by late morning for wine tasting and an early barbecue lunch. This should give you plenty of time to get back to Melbourne to crush your grapes and get your wine started.

For those of you getting your grapes delivered, we will not be able to deliver to you on this day. We apologise for any inconvenience.
