Fantastic weather, yummy food & a party atmosphere
Queen’s Birthday weekend produced fantastic weather for the annual Heathcote on Show festival. We had Prologue coffee, American BBQ, Rent-A-Row racking and pruning, shuttle buses, other buses, outdoor pool table, live music Saturday and Sunday nights, our 2015 vintage launch, two huge fires, plus plenty of beer and wine enjoyed over the whole weekend!
Busy weekends, like Heathcote On Show, allow us to play with our setting and this year we added lots of picnic tables, outdoor pool and a excellent food stall run by our friends Rob & Effie from Prologue Coffee Roasters. These guys provided their amazing coffee, as well as a delicious American BBQ of pulled pork or smoked brisket in brioche buns and vegemite mac n cheese. It was so good, we sold out well before dinner time (sorry to all who missed out).
There was plenty for people to do and plenty of people at The Shiraz Republice over Heathcote on Show, with shuttles buses, a coach and a stretch hummer joining the foot traffic. We launched our 2015 vintage, which was a hit with our guests over the 3 days. In the week leading up to Heathcote On Show, Alan crafted 15 Tasting Pallets for our new craft beer ponies, and these were popular all weekend – with around 100 sold (and a lot of beer tasted).
Many of our Rent-A-Row Citizens came and attended a pruning workshop, as well as racking their wines into fresh demijohns, leaving the lees (dead yeast cells) and sediment to be discarded, and adding French oak dominoes to their wine.
